We are happy to introduce you to our last but certainly not least Guest Designer Dawn

We were thrilled to have her this month!  Here is a little about her in her own words:
I’m 55… a wife(37yrs), mother (of 5), grandmother (of 9) living in rural Ohio amongst corn, soybean and wheat fields. I have 3 dogs, a couple barn cats and 14 llamas. I have a llama 4H club and we show in competition, go to nursing homes (yes, we take the llamas in!) and generally have fun!

I was first introduced to paper crafting (as probably so many are) at an SU workshop. I only went because my daughter had booked a party “to be nice” from a friend. HA! What would I do with stamps? But, it was MY daughter, so I HAD to go! What can I say….. I WAS HOOKED!

I’ve always enjoyed crafting in various mediums (since I have the llamas, I spin their fiber into yarn for knitting/crocheting just for one example!), but stamping was different…not only do I really enjoy creating cards and altered items, but the joy of sending a card with just the right sentiment…sometimes “just because”, to a person at the RIGHT time and giving them encouragement or just making them smile and feel “special” is so rewarding!

I do freelance work, have served on many design teams, and have quite a few magazine publications under my belt. So far the highlight was being asked to help illustrate a coloring techniques book by Annie’s Attic! I do love to color. Thanks to Terry and Creative Cuts and More for asking me to be a Guest Designer this month!

This pop-up card is so pretty!  To get the details and see the inside check it out HERE.
I can't get over her cute this Box With Handle and Layer is!  To see more about it visit her blog HERE.

Dawn, thank you so much for joining us this month!  It was a pleasure to have you and we can't wait for you to come back!

Candy Cane Sleigh

Did you all have a great Thanksgiving? It's so hard to believe that Christmas is now less than a month away! Wow!

I ordered this 3-D sleigh die cut from Creative Cuts and More, stamped on it with a candy cane stamp using Versamark, and filled it with mini candy canes from Walmart. There is a good double handful of candy canes in this sleigh, which is plenty of room for your holiday candies. Wouldn't it be fun to have several of these around your living room for your friends and family to help themselves?

Die Cut: 3-D Sleigh
Stamps: Flourishes' Sweets of the Season
Other: Killer Red Tacky Tape, Copic markers, mini candy canes

Happy Black Friday!

Hello!! It's Noelle posting today! Did everyone shop? I am happy to report I am still in my PJ's and slept in until 7:45! I'll do a little online shopping this afternoon! Did you know that Creative Cuts & More is having a sale? You get to pick your own coupon! One is for 20% off anything in the store and the code is cybermonday. The second coupon is for free shipping in the US with a minimum order of $25.00. That code is blackfriday. Both coupons are good through Monday. Only 1 coupon can be used per order. How great is that?

I made this card for one of our design team members, Kim! It's an A2 card that I had custom cut in Bazzil Bling, which I ADORE! Then I used a scrap of SU Kraft to stamp the {ippity] background stamp on. Then another scrap to stamp the image on. That is another {ippity} stamp and I embossed it using Ranger Black EP. The ribbon is from Michael's and the jewels are by Doodlebug! I put the whole card together with Killer White Tear-able Tape!!

Thanks for stopping by today! Have fun shopping and don't forget to use your coupon!

Becky here today to share the fun little Standing Pop-up Card from Creative Cuts & More with you all!
I really don't make a lot of cards, but this one was just too fun to pass up!

At first glance, it seems a rather ordinary, if not a strange looking card. But in reality, it's a super clever card that opens up to a little box with a tag/card standing in the middle - a nice little surprise in the mail for someone!
I ordered the whole she-bang in Kraft & Cream (it comes with the base & a layered card for the center piece) & Glimmer painted the base & the larger layer in green; cut some notches out of the top to look like a shipping tag; punched a hole & added the ribbon.
I attached a simple vintage image to the cream layer, inked the edges in green & attached it to the little "standing" tabs on the inside of the box through the opening in the top of the box with some Tacky Tape.
It's so cool how it fits in the envelope flat & then the recipient just pulls gently on the tag to make it pop open!
I stamped a little Christmas saying on the front of the box & then "jeweled" the edges with some "Candy Cane Red" Stickles!
I love how it's like a little table decoration to display!!
It would also make really fun place cards at a Holiday table too!
Or, how about making the layer on the tag a little pocket to put a gift card in?!
What fun!!

That's it for me today!
Happy Holidays to y'all!

We are happy to introduce you to one of our November guest designers Dawn Lotharius

We are so lucky to have her this month!  Here is a bio about her in her own words:
Hi! My name is Dawn and I have been an avid paper crafter for the last almost three years. Prior to that I was always involved in some type craft.

Give me a challenge or a new product to try out and I am thrilled.

I am most proud of being a mom to three amazing children, all of them now grown. Two of my children work in high risk positions, with one son being deployed to Afghanistan right now. I work with crafts to help relieve the stress of knowing that and the stress of day to day life. My honey Don and I, who still consider ourselves newlyweds, have a fur baby we call Pippie.

How darling is this Trapezoid Box?  Please head over to her Blog to see more about it!  Plus she is giving away a pretty fantastic prize!
I love this Cupcake Box Set!  It's so pretty!  There are lots more pictures on her blog!

It's an Apron! It's a Card! It's a Recipe Apron Card!!

Hi everyone!
Kim here & today I am sharing the FABULOUS Apron Card with you! It's so simple to pull together & the theme possibilities are endless!! I chose to do a GINGERBREAD COOKIE theme for this one...

After I put the card together (super easy with 2 strips of Tacky Tape!), I Glimmer Misted it with a red mist. I added a row of Gingerbread Men stickers along the bottom & some other related embellishments from my Holiday stash. The scalloped lace along the pocket I got from a fellow DT member, Noelle & I think it just makes the apron complete!!

Inside the apron pocket I placed a real recipe card & made the other two from shipping tags with a few more embellishments from my stash again. The little GINGERBREAD MAN peeking out from behind one of the cards is available here.

Added a little rick-rack to the top of the card for the apron's "neck strap" & now I have the perfect little hostess gift ready for some yummy cookie recipes!!
Terry has a great Holiday Apron Card Kit for sale for only $21.99 on the Creative Cuts & More site & there are a bunch more Holiday dies available too!! You can crank out 10 adorable cards with this kit!!! Think of teacher gifts or neighbors all done in one fell swoop!!

That's it!

Torn Frames Peace Bird Bag

Creative Cuts and More sponsored the Caardvarks challenge last week and I wanted to play along. The challenge was to create a holiday card/project using die cuts, so I pulled out this versatile Square Bag #01 - Large that was cut from Kraft cardstock.

I stamped a tattered background directly onto the bag and set that aside unassembled. Then I stamped the bird image onto some Basic Grey paper, layered it onto some red cardstock, and then used the Torn Frames technique on the red layer. I did the same thing for the sentiment and then adhered that below the bird. All stamps are from I Brake for Stamps.

To finish off this bag, I punched a couple of holly leaves (Martha Stewart punch) from a darker green paper (Basic Grey Wassail collection) and added some red buttons for the "berries." Once the stamping was complete and the embellishments were adhered, I used some Killer Red Tacky Tape to assemble the bag.

I love keeping a few of these bags on hand for quick little gift bags. Kraft is such a versatile color, so these bags can be used for Thanksgiving, Christmas, Valentine's Day, and birthdays. Go ahead and stock up on some now so you'll be ready for those last minute holiday gifts.

Moose Sighting...

Hi, it's Darsie, with a fun card! I just got a bunch of Christmas die cuts from Creative Cuts & More, and created this delightful holiday scene! My base card is the Arch Window A6 Card which I ran through a Cuttlebug folder for my decorated window. I then brushed a black ink pad over the embossed areas for highlights. Next, I took a piece of  acetate and painted my "frosted windows", with white acrylic paint, added snowflakes, then adhered it to the back of the window. My Christmas Tree #04 Large is made of Alpine Velvet Paper which I put through the "Swirls" embossing folder, and my Moose - Small is cut out of Midnight Velvet Paper. Most all of Creative Cuts Die Cuts can be ordered in the Velvet paper, or the hundreds of other varieties of paper they carry.

On the inside of the card, I stamped a pine tree from Stampin' Up in Pine and Gray ink, then brushed the bottom portion with Brilliance Moonlight White for my snow. I added some presents, a chipboard sentiment, K&Company stickers, a sparkly red star, and a velvet bow to finish the scene.

Are you a Card Maker? You should be!

Hi Everyone!  It's Noelle posting today!  Today I thought I would post some of the cards I made on World Card Making Day!  Each of these cards were done for a different Unity challenge.  It really is easy to make cards and it's really fun too!
This is a A2 card cut in white.  I covered it in pattern paper from my stash.  I cut the 'ticket' by hand and used Doodlebug Jewels!  The brad looking things are fake stickers I got at Michael's!
This is the Fancy Frame Window Card, which I LOVE!   I turned it into a shaker card which was not all that great LOL  But it worked for the challenge!
Here is another A2 card.  Just some scraps from my stash.  I used my deco square punches, some brads and Prima flowers and paper pieced the Cherries stamps and added Glossy Accents!
Here is another A2 card I embossed the whole front side, the vase is a punch the ribbon, flowers and brads are from my stash.
This last card is another A2 with more DoodleBug Jewels!  The ribbon is from my stash.  I made all 5 of these cards in about an hour and a half!  They all were really easy and quick!
Thanks for stopping by today and Happy Card Making!

A Litttle Christmas Reprise...

Hi everyone! Becky here today.
I am repeating a post from our Christmas In July Blog Hop today because I have been laid up for over a week with a silly cold that is kicking my bum & I just haven't had the mindset to craft lately! I promise to have new something to share soon! But be sure to look around at previous posts & the July Hop for tons of ideas for your Holiday crafting!

For this project, I decided to work with the Pyramid Box & the Pyramid Flat Top Box.  I knew that I could layer these two to make a fun Christmas Tree with a hidden treasure inside!

After monkeying around with the image of my daughter in PSE, I cut various papers from Making Memories "Fa La La" collection & some fantastic BoBunny paper called "St. Nick in Toyland,"  into the triangle shape for the top of the tree. I used the fabulous Killer Red Tacky Tape in 1/4" to put the pyramid all together. Once that was done, I inked the edges of all the paper triangles with TH Walnut Stain Distress Ink before adhering the paper to the pyramid. I just love that pic of my daughter hugging Santa!!! (For those that live in the Denver Metro area, The Barn at Castle Rock has the greatest Santa, you can take your own photos & NO lines!!! All for FREE!!)

For the bottom, Flat Top Pyramid Box, I first used Olive Vine & Sunflower Glimmer Mist (I think I might be becoming a GM addict!) to get the same tone of green in the paper's I was using. I rubbed on a little image from Webster's Pages "Ting-a-Ling" collection on the front, a little "25" cut out from a piece of the MM "Fa La La" papers & glued it all together (including the lid to the top Pyramid) with more of the Killer Red Tacky Tape! Next, I used more of the Killer Tape to run that FABULOUS fiber across the top (also from Webster's)

Even though I wired the top & used a little ribbon from my stash, because of the hidden treasure inside, the tree is really too heavy to hang.

My little "treasure" inside, is just that...a little book of some favorite memories of Maggie during the 2009 holiday season! After printing a contact sheet (this is a great way to get tiny pix for these kinds of projects all at once!) in PSE of the photos I wanted to use, I cut all my papers from the Webster's Pages "Ting-a-Ling" & "Winter Wonderland" collections, as well as some more of that great BoBunny paper roughly into a 2x2 inch squares & whipped it out in no time!
Below are some more photos from the mini-album. I really tried to keep it simple, with the exception of a little accordion fold inside to allow for a few sequential photos. Like I mentioned above, I used mostly the Webster's papers, but threw in a few others from my stash. You'll see a couple of those great rub-ons again as well as tons of dymo labels! I LOVE my WRMK label maker with all the different font wheels (Dymo makes one now too)!!!

Be sure to check out Creative Cuts & More for all your Holiday projects!
!00's of new dies & more being added every day!
Thanks for looking!
See you soon!
