Today, we have an alumni DT member as a guest designer!

Good Morning Everyone!  It's Noelle posting today.  Carla Mayfield is at my house!  She happens to be my sister, so I am lucky enough to have her talent in my scrap room often!
I started this Rectangle Window A7 Scallop Card and I just was not feeling it.  I I adore the new Loads of Love {ippity} stamp set, as usual it embossed beautifully.  But I wasn't sure what to do with the rest of the card and I was tired.  [I had just spent 3 hours in Walmart and ran over our take and bake pizza with the cart in the parking lot, while the baby was screaming!  Big Fun let me tell you  LOL]  So because I am the spoiled Little Sister I just slid the card from my desk over to her desk and said why don't you fix this for me?  You can be a Guest Designer it will be fun!  So she did and it is beautiful right?  I wish you could see how beautiful the shimmer is on this card!  Carla can use a Stardust pen and make everything that much better!
CC&M has a TON of window cards!  In lots of sizes!
Thanks for stopping by today!

Merry Christmas in July, Creative Cuts and More!!

Thanks so much for letting me design for you!! This is the sleigh die cut from Creative Cuts and More. I have seen so many completely different and beautiful styles made with this die. Here I used a Flourishes stamp and LOTS of silver glitter. Too much, maybe? NAAAHHH!!! There's also tinsel, silver bells, SU! silver cord, thin organdy ribbon, and a tin snowflake. I did both sides identically so it looks the same from every angle. I got the gorgeous little balls from M's. I have no idea whatsoever what they are for, but they were irresistible!!! The birds are from M's as well.

Creative Cuts and More Popcorn Box

This darling box is a die cut from Creative Cuts and More. It's called a Popcorn Box. I love the shape of it, and wanted to work with it, but I wanted to do something sophisticated, so I had them cut it in my favorite Amethyst Stardream cardstock. They have dozens of choices! I embossed it with SU!'s Print Pattern. I did it one section at a time, masking the others so they didn't get messed up. I added a fat dollop of Black Diamond Stickles in all the blank triangles. The stamp is a SeeD's set, I embossed it in black and colored with my markers and a wc brush as usual.

DH & DS's suddenly interested in stamping!

It's very curious. I've noticed that since I started using Bombshell stamps, my husband and two teenage sons have taken a sudden interest in my projects. Hmm... Why do you think that is?

Well, anyway, this sexy cowgirl is one of two cowgirl images from Bombshell Stamps' Retro Cowgirl set, isn't she cute?
Take a look at the little buckle. That's from Creative Cuts and More. I chose to have it cut out of medium weight chipboard, then asked that they cut me the same dies in bronze stardream metallic card stock. It adds a subtle sheen to this card, which shockingly enough, does not have any glitter or bling on it. I did touch the stardust pen to strategic areas, because I think there's a regulation against entirely shimmer- free cards.

Stuff:
Stamps- Bombshell Stamps: Retro Cowgirl
Paper: SU!: Chocolate Chip, Designer (weathered?), More Mustard & watercolor, CC&M: chipboard & stardream bronze
Ink- Versamark, Color Box Fluid Chalk Ink: Chestnut Roan
Goodies- die cut buckle from CC&M, brads, tag die, American Crafts ribbon, various markers, popdots

Scalloped Circle Shaker Card

Close-up of Creative Cuts and More shaker kit card~

You can see how perfect all the cuts are, and I didn't have to do any of it! I got to spend my stamping time watercoloring the lovely Bombshell Angel instead of trying to cut a bunch of stuff out-how cool is that?

Stuff:
Stamps-Bombshell Stamps: Bombshell Angel
Paper: from CC&M: Onyx & Rose Quartz Stardream die cuts, Basic Gray Two Scoops, SU! wc paper
Ink: Versamark
Goodies: Shaker card kit from CC&M, dew drops from Flourishes, various markers, micro glass beads

This is my very first shaker card! Of course I cheated because I ordered a shaker kit from Creative Cuts and More! Literally the only thing I cut on this card is the Basic Gray paper, the lace, and the watercolor paper with the Bombshell Angel from Bombshell Stamps on it! The shaker kit comes with die cut foam, double-sided tape, the window-everything! All the dies are in the exact right size circle, too. You can choose from dozens of papers, of course I went with metallics, because I love them so!

Square Bag #1 Mini

Creative Cuts and More Bag/Box

I have to tell you that DH and 14yods had great fun at my expense over this tiny bag. They spent an inordinate amount of time rumaging around the house to see what kinds of things would actually fit in a box this small. I told DH in no uncertain terms that all kinds of good things come in small packages, not the least of which are diamonds. I feel pretty certain that more diamonds are in my future. (Not.) Personally, I think a bag this cute has merits of its very own. When party/shower/wedding guests take a little bag like this home, they are not taking it because they just can't get enough of those chalky little mints they're always foisting off on us at girl events.
You can get this bag and dozens more atCreativeCutsandMore.com They also have the redline tape that makes putting these together a breeze, and KEEPS them together.

Sweet Felt Star

Design Team member Carla Mayfield is no stranger to cards for boys... she's the mother of three boys! Here's her story of the cute felt star that she received and the card she created:

"Terry, the owner of Creative Cuts and More, sometimes send me random cuts from her extensive collection. I love going through these and thinking up a project for them. Today I wanted to work with this sweet felt star, and I really love how it turned out.

I started with a base of Bashful Blue, then I added a Quick Strip down the side. These were from SU! a year or two ago. For 2009, I am either going to use or get rid of some paper. I used to be a horrible hoarder!! I can tell you that all hoarding does for you is leave you with lots of outdated paper. Join me in using all your new and best stuff in 2009!!

Then I sprayed these two with some Caspian Sea Shimmer Mist. I made this by adding one jar of Radiant Pearls to four ounces of hair spray. It works like a charm!

I then put the sticker on BB card stock and cut the circle. The way I got it in there perfectly is by positioning the die exactly where I wanted it and taping it down. I cut the scalloped circle from Barely Banana and stuck it on the felt star.

Then I grabbed the metal stars with my tweezers and heated then dipped them one at a time into my retired SU! Light Blue embossing powder. I love to use ep this way, and that is why I have 40 or so colors. These stars look beautiful IRL!!

Do you ever get a card three quarters of the way finished and then decide you want the ribbon in an inaccessable place? That's what happened here, so I just took my SU! slit punch and punched a tiny nip out of the top of the card. Now the ribbon loops all the way from the inside to the outside of the card."
