Froggy Pyramid Box

Happy October! It's Danielle and this box was one of my favorites to make. They Pyramid Box was the perfect unique shape for a giftcard. I put the little card inside and decorated this for a friend's new baby. It was stamped and tied with a ribbon. Definitely a fun way to give a gift card!

Want A Slice of Cake ?

Hello Everyone, Dawn ll here again
I decided to play around with just a couple ideas for favors to use for Baby Showers.
What better place to get my cake slices x- large from then Creative Cuts and More?

Had to share a few different views of this adorable Pink version.

I used some supplies from Hobby Lobby:

That yummy white ribbon is from Really Reasonable Ribbon and is one of my favorite.

Do you notice that I used a few of my handmade flowers again?

For this blue version I used some more yummy ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon.

I dug through my stash of buttons to use as accents.

So aren't these the cutest ideas to use at a baby shower?

Time For A Baby Shower!

Hi friends, Dawn Lusk here sharing this darling Baby Shoe from Creative Cuts and More. It seems I know at least 5 that are expecting, several with their first baby, so I know I'll be attending some showers in the near future! Don't these sweet shoes make excellent goody containers?!

This one is made from Bazzill Smoothies, Guava Sensation that I dry embossed. It's so simple to put together, there is a tutorial here. I used Killer White Tacky Tearable Tape, that stuff is awesome! A little ribbon and a brad and you have the sweetest decoration!!

For extra fun, make a placecard for the head table or if you're feeling extra crafty...for everyone attending!

Jungle Fever!

Good Morning!  After making several girly pink baby ensembles, I had to do a set for the boys.  This set would be perfect for a baby shower or gift ensemble for a new mom.  I couldn't resist this Jungle themed paper by Reminisce "The Wild".  And I loved that the colors were non-traditional.

I love this A7 Scalloped Card!  I used a Clear and Simple stamp set on all of these projects.

Cute as a Button!

Good Morning!

And welcome to the Creative Cuts and More Blog.  Today I am sharing with you some baby projects.  I designed these recently for the Perfect Pair blog hop combining Creative Cuts and More and Clear and Simple Stamps.  CCM has some really fun products that are just perfect for baby showers and more!

I used the A7 Scallop Card on this one.

 I went a little shabby with this ensemble.  Aren't these so cute!!  I used the Diaper Card with Pin, the Baby Shoes, and A7 Fancy Frame Window with Clear and Simple's "Little One" stamp set.

This "Diaper Card" die comes in 2 pieces, pre-cut and pre-scored, the actual diaper and the diaper pin.  When you order make sure you note that you get to select different colors for each one.  It does not come with the inside card.  I decided to make mine a mock baby shower invite.  I covered it with old book paper and inked it up with some brown ink.  I love the lace along the legs.  The button is part of the Clear and Simple "Little One" stamp set.



This is the A7 Fancy Frame Window Card.  It's so much fun to design the inside of the card creatively as well with just a little part peeking through the window.

I used one of the words from the "Little Ones" stamp set to create my background border.  I used the old book paper again.  I fan folded it to create the border.  The buttons are from the stamp set and I colored them with chalk.  The paper for the buttons is Jenni Bowlin. 

See the little heart.  You can't tell from the photo, but it is made of velvet paper!!  Yes, Creative Cuts and More sells velvet paper.  It's so cool.  I just used my Spellbinders die to cut it out and inked the edges.

Card Portfolio: Baby Gift Thank You

My little sister is having her first baby any day now!!!!

I crafted a whole bunch of goodies for her baby shower. This is just one little part of it and the rest will be revealed mid April!!!

This is a  must have  for any baby shower gift. Just fill it with 8 or so handmade, matching Thank You cards and envelopes!

Add a ribbon tie to tame the BULK that just might occur if you add too many pop dots like I did.

I stapled the ribbon to the inside of the side flap.

"Thank you for your baby gift" isn't that the perfect stamp for any mommy.

Confession... I am terrible, I do not know where I got this stamp!

However, the other stamps are from Papertrey Ink!

Practical gift, right? I think so!

Hey, don't get me wrong.... Doodlebug Baby Projects

I'm a big fan of the cute, whimsical designs from Doodlebug... and I love that everything coordinates.

TIP: Did you know that Bazzill Criss Cross textured cardstock is dyed to match Doodlebug products? Takes away all the guesswork and makes coordinating a snap!

My card uses several of the dies from CC&M -- 5-1/4" - Square Window Card #01 - Border Windows, Heart #02 - Large with Layer, and Photo Corner #02 Set, all cut from the Criss Cross textured cardstock -- plus Doodlebug stickers, gemstones, and patterned paper.


The box was created from several CC&M dies also: Tall Gable Box, Heart #02 - Large with Layer, and Photo Corner #02 Set, all cut from the Criss Cross textured cardstock -- along with Doodlebug stickers, gemstones, and patterned paper.

I made two enhancements to the flat cardstock stickers (hippo & turtle) that were used on the projects. I used the EK Success Powder Tool to neutralize the adhesive. This allowed me to put pop-dots on the stickers so they'd have a little dimension. I added more interest to them by adding the self-adhesive jewels. Now they really pop!

Baby Shower Treat Cones (and a chance to win!)

I made these treat cones with the 11 1/2" mini scallop die from Creative Cuts and More, for the big cones cut the die cut in half, for the skinny ones use a quarter of the sheet. Just roll up the paper and secure with killer red tacky tape, tip: the tape will even hold the lace and ribbon on, now that IS good tape! Don't forget you have until August 3rd to upload a baby or bridal shower project to the Caardvarks blog for your chance to win a card kit from Creative Cuts and more!

My daughter needed a cake for a baby shower, so I made this duck cake using the cake box set found here. For the cake stand I used a margarita glass, put the duck in first, added the stones, sealed it up and turned it over. Worked great! The baby block on top spells out the baby's name, Dash.

And this adorable ABC Book was created by Kat Salmon using chipboard cut from the 8"x8" Album Set dies. She also used the Straight Frame in Blackberry Swirl Smooth. She did such a gorgeous job! The Hungry Animal is a line of fabric for children -- and she cut out each of the fabric animals and added them to the book. What a labor of love!

Sweet Felt Star

Design Team member Carla Mayfield is no stranger to cards for boys... she's the mother of three boys! Here's her story of the cute felt star that she received and the card she created:


"Terry, the owner of Creative Cuts and More, sometimes send me random cuts from her extensive collection. I love going through these and thinking up a project for them. Today I wanted to work with this sweet felt star, and I really love how it turned out.

I started with a base of Bashful Blue, then I added a Quick Strip down the side. These were from SU! a year or two ago. For 2009, I am either going to use or get rid of some paper. I used to be a horrible hoarder!! I can tell you that all hoarding does for you is leave you with lots of outdated paper. Join me in using all your new and best stuff in 2009!!

Then I sprayed these two with some Caspian Sea Shimmer Mist. I made this by adding one jar of Radiant Pearls to four ounces of hair spray. It works like a charm!

I then put the sticker on BB card stock and cut the circle. The way I got it in there perfectly is by positioning the die exactly where I wanted it and taping it down. I cut the scalloped circle from Barely Banana and stuck it on the felt star.

Then I grabbed the metal stars with my tweezers and heated then dipped them one at a time into my retired SU! Light Blue embossing powder. I love to use ep this way, and that is why I have 40 or so colors. These stars look beautiful IRL!!

Do you ever get a card three quarters of the way finished and then decide you want the ribbon in an inaccessable place? That's what happened here, so I just took my SU! slit punch and punched a tiny nip out of the top of the card. Now the ribbon loops all the way from the inside to the outside of the card."

What a fun first project for us to feature from March 2009 guest designer Jennifer Beason! She started with the Baby Shoe die and went to town! These shoes are so well-decorated, they look real! See the seam stitching and the corduroy brads? We're in love!


And, perhaps the best part? She used them atop a very pretty gift box!
