Elf Pocket Card

Hi everyone, it's Taylor here today with a cute holiday project to share.  I adore the Elf on the Shelf tradition, and so do both of my kids.  My six year old looks forward to "Elfie" (great name, huh - she picked it when she was three!) coming all year and this year my 18 month old is obsessed with waving to him.  It is SO sweet.  With that said, let's get to my project for today:

I decided to make a pocket full of gift tags.  I started with my main image, and put him on the outside of my library pocket die cut from Creative Cuts and More.

The insert card has a different image on it.  I embossed both the pocket front and the insert card; the insert card I used the debossed side as the front for a little bit of fun. 

Both elves are colored with Copics and have flock on their collars, hats, and gloves.  I couldn't resist adding a bit of softness!

I tied twine around my insert card (and the gift tags as well) and will eventually add a plain cream card stock piece with a note to the recipient.  I'm just not sure who is going to get these sweet tags yet!

Zinnia Gift Bag

Hi everyone!  It's Taylor here today, sharing a cute little Tuck and Close Bag I whipped up the other day. Creative Cuts and More actually has several variations of this design; this bag is #01.  I made my bag a bit differently, because I wanted the flap to be shown on the front.  I measured it all out, masked off the handles since I didn't want to stamp on them, lined up my stamp so that the image would overlap perfectly, stopped to take something away from my toddler....and stamped the image wrong!!  Oops!

Why am I 'fessing up to making this wrong, and still sharing it with you?  I think it is important to not be a perfectionist all the time!  Let's face it - we all make mistakes, and it teaches a good lesson.  Take what you've got and make it work for you!  I added a big bow on the flap, which doesn't keep the bag from opening, and you really don't notice that I stamped the image wrong on it.

When assembled, this bag (which does not need any adhesive to construct) measures 3-1/4” wide x 5-1/2” high x 1-1/2” deep.  It's perfect for holiday gifts!

Happy Holidays!

Hi everyone, it's Taylor here again today.  I'm sharing another holiday card I've added to my pile - I try so hard to get ahead with these before the holiday rush sets in.  Yesterday I realized that November starts next week - yikes!!!!

The sentiment on this card is stamped on a die cut ornament from Creative Cuts and More.  Specifically, it's part of the Christmas Ornaments #02 mini ornament set.  It comes with four ornaments, two of each style, in whatever color you choose.  My pretty silver snowflake came from there too - it's Snowflake #01 mini, and also comes with four little die cut snowflakes in it.

Both of these are perfect accents for holiday cards, don't you think?  I know I'll be using tons of them this season!

You Go Girl

Hey everyone, it's Taylor here today!  I am absolutely in love with these Banner #01 (small) thingamabobs (yes, that is a technical term!).  They make adding a sentiment so easy - who doesn't love easy?

On this clean and simple card I started with the Banner #01 from Creative Cuts and More and stamped a sentiment on it. I folded the banner along the pre-perforated lines, but you certainly don't have to.  Or you could fold it and tuck those ends more underneath (instead of popping it up so much like I did).  Either way, it's a great way to make a statement!

I'll Be There

Hi there! It's Taylor here today, with a very special card to share.  This is my sample for my Hope You Can Cling To challenge over at Splitcoaststampers today!  My challenge is to FIGHT LIKE A GIRL - create a card or project with girlie embellishments (including, but not limited to, pearls, lace, bling, ribbons, flowers, glitter, or whatever you can think of!).

I used a chipboard tag (Tag #02) from Creative Cuts and More as the starting point for my card.  The card base is 5 3/4" square, so you can se how big the chipboard tag is!  I painted it with white acrylic paint, and then brushed some pink paint on top of that.  I stamped the large Cling Jumbo Dahlia flower on the left part of the tag, and then stamped the sentiment towards the right side.  Using a glue pen (Martha Stewart) I added glitter where I wanted it on the sentiment.  Then I sprinkled Shabby Pink embossing enamel straight onto the tag, and heated it from underneath to melt it in chunky splotches.

I stamped the Dahlia again in the top right corner of my teal card stock, and used Clear EP to emboss it. I added the tag to the card using dimensionals, and a bit of bling in the corner.  My fab sheer pink ribbon has sparkly bits on the edges, and the lace adds a bit of contrast.

Little Trapezoid Box

Hi everyone, it's Taylor here. Today I'm showing it off today on this darling little Trapezoid Box with Layers from Creative Cuts and More.  It's recommended that this box gets put together with 1/8" Killer Red Tacky Tape.

I stamped the background on each of the panels for the box sides, and again on the panel for the top.  Then I added some lovely Red Velvet Scrollwork Border stickers on each panel before gluing them to the box.  Eventually I'll probably tie a big bow around it and add a tag, but I haven't figured out who is getting this fab gift, or what is going in it!

Beary Christmas

Hi everyone!  It's Taylor here today, to share a quick and fun Christmas card with you!  Have you started your holiday stamping yet?  I actually started way earlier this year, and then took a break for most of the summer.  But with autumn starting, I need to get moving!

My card base is actually from Creative Cuts and More (it's the 5 1/4" square scallop card), and it came with that great scallop border and a pre-scored fold line, just waiting for me to dress it up!  I love to pair these square cards with the coordinating 5 1/2" square envelopes.  It makes for a great set.

Bouquet Album Cover

Hi everyone, it's Taylor here, sharing a little project. I've started working on a mini-album (ok, it should have been finished by now, but life intervened) and today I'm sharing the front cover. I started with the Mix and Match Album #2 from Creative Cuts and More (in Bazzill Kraft).  This is a super cool little set - you get 2 each of 4 pre-cut pieces of card stock, each one 8 1/2" x 5 1/2". You can order different sizes of album rings separately.

I started by stamping my gorgeous Baroque Bouquet Cling Jumbo rubber stamp directly onto my card stock. I added a bit of color using regular colored pencils from my daughter's art stash.  I added sponging all around the outer edges of the page. Then I stamped Versamark ink directly to the card stock, and poured Deep Impressions Clear Embossing powder over the whole thing. I heated it from underneath, and once it was all melted I applied a second coat.

My buckle was made using a buckle from Buckle Set #2 and covering it with Shabby White Enamel. It has cool flecks of gold in it, and looks fabulous once heated.  I finished it off with a bit of ribbon. I'll be sharing more album pages in the near future, so stay tuned.

Who Wants Popcorn?

Hi everyone! It's Taylor here, sharing a fun project today.  I adore this little popcorn box from Creative Cuts and More!  I snazzed it up with some gorgeous stickers.  They have a luxurious velvet feel to them - so lovely.  The brown stickers really "pop" (hahaha - I crack myself up!) with the Bazzill Lime Crush card stock.

I added a bit of bronze ribbon to my popcorn box, and a little tag using a large sentiment.

This whole thing came together really quickly, thanks to the great die cut from Creative Cuts and More. The popcorn box comes precut and scored, totally ready for assembly.  It's best to put it together with some Killer Red or White Tacky Tape.  It will make your life much easier, I promise!

Just Charming

I whipped up a quick card with some of my favorite colors (blue and brown - how boring, my daughter says!). I used the wonderful Color Block Window Square Scallop Card from Creative Cuts and More, which makes these cards so easy.

My card base is Bazzill's Java textured card stock. It's so warm and rich! I paired it with some wire edged teal ribbon, and used teal ink on my little images.  I love all of the possibilities with this type of card - you could do one huge image behind it, or several different ones like I did, or even the same small images in different colors.

Black and White With a Twist!

Peek-A-View Box!

Hi everyone! It's Taylor here today to share a quick project. I made a fun little peek-a-view box recently, with the intention of giving it as a gift. Except, once I colored it, I decided I liked it so much, it's still sitting on my desk! The box is entirely unembellished and I really like it as is.

I love these boxes from Creative Cuts and More - they are SO versatile! They couldn't be any easier to put together, either. I started with the pre-cut and scored pieces (in Neenah White, and acetate). I stamped my image (it's a Cling Jumbo Dogwood stamp from Stampendous) and colored it with Copics. Once that was done, all that was left was to put it together! I highly recommend the Killer Tacky Tape, which is available in different widths.

I think I'll be making a lot more of these - they are prefect for hostess gifts, teacher gifts, or just to sit on my desk and look pretty, like this one is!

Treasured Memories!

Today I'm sharing something I made for my daughter - a sweet little Tiffany Purse (using a die cut from Creative Cuts and More). Pull up a chair...it's story time!

We spent her spring break in Corolla, NC, and every day we went for a walk to look for shells. Some days it was the whole family, some days she went with her grandparents, and one day it was just the two of us (on the beach, anyway - she and I took several walks out on the sound, to bird watch and see sunsets). She and I went for a sunrise walk one morning, and found a few great shells. She brought an amazing collection home. Before I made this little purse, she and I spent about an hour looking through the shells, talking about where she found them and why she picked them to bring home. I asked her to pick out a few of her small favorites so I could make her a surprise. I colored the image and put the shells inside the purse. I threaded ribbon through the slots in the back, under the purse, and back over the top, looping them around a button I added. It closes just fine without the ribbon - you really don't need to do it the way I did. I just loved the way the white satin ribbon looked with it!

Much to my satisfaction, she was thrilled when I gave this to her! It's been given a place of honor on her nightstand, where she can get out her favorite shells and look at them anytime she wants :)

Birthday Hugs

Hi everyone! It's Taylor, back again today with another fun card. I used the 5 1/4" Square Scallop Card in Kraft (Bazill Classic Smooth) for my card base - these just make creating so easy! All you have to do is fold along the pre-scored fold line (I always use a bone folder for that, to get a good sharp crease) and add your patterned paper, image, and embellishments.

Medallion Pyramid Box

Welcome to Monday everyone! It's Taylor here today, and I'm sharing a fun (and quick) little treat box I whipped up. I started with the Pyramid Box, in Bazzill Kraft. I stamped a large medallion from Stampendous on each side, and lightly sponged each edge. I was going for a vintage yet masculine feel. How'd I do?

Now, in theory, you should use the spectacular Killer Red Tacky Tape to assemble this box. But I chose to not add any adhesive at all, and just tied mine together at the top with twine and pretty ribbon. That way, when the recipient unties it, it sort of falls open to reveal the fun chocolate surprise I have hidden inside!

Dream Dress

Hi everyone! Taylor here, and today I'm sharing a fun and simple card I made using the Dress Window Square Scallop card. I think this card is fabulous for all sorts of fun, girlie things - invites, thank you notes, gift sets, you name it! I chose to add a piece of patterned paper behind the dress, bling across the top, and a pretty bow. What else does a girl need?

Time for Tea!

Hi everyone! It's Taylor here, with my very first post on the Die Cut Diva blog! Today I've made a Gatefold Crescent Card (in Bazzill Classic Smooth) from Creative Cuts & More. I love that the whole card comes cut and scored - I just had to make it my own! And this brand new stamp set from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps was just perfect for this card.

Inside the card, I stamped the large sentiment, two small flowers, and used the "steam" as swirls on either side.

On the outside of the card, I added an Antique Label (in Neenah Smooth), sponged the edges, and stamped the teapot on patterned paper. I love the fun pattern paired with the Kraft. The band just slides off, and the card opens up. My husband is fascinated, lol!
