merry & bright

hi!  i honestly can't believe that it is the weekend before christmas! i have a holiday card to share with you today, as my last post for 2012. i used the elegant reindeer cottage cutz die. then i added a little scrap of white paper to add the effect of snow. wanted a little color so i did a splash of washi tape on the edge of the inside of the card.  stamped some snowflakes and the inside sentiment that says "may your season be merry and bright" with stamps form unity stamp co.

have a good weekend and hope you can spend some time getting crafty!
and have a very merry holiday season!

home

hi there!  i have a simple card to share today.  it started out as a christmas card in my mind, but ended up being a "happy new home" kind of card!  i started with four pane a2 window card, then stamped a little living room scene in the background.  added the sentiment and some washi tape and it was complete!  all stamps are by unity.

trees

howdy! can you believe that next week is thanksgiving? the start of the holiday season. so today i've got a little holiday goodie. i started with a few of the pieces of the cake slice box which i thought it would make a cute little christmas tree! i inked it up with some iced spruce distress ink. then stamped some snowflakes using {ippity} and purple onion stamps with versamark and clear embossing powder. added another layer of distress ink. then i used different elements on each tree including twine, stars, and a little bling.

who knew some cake slices could make a little forest??

it's your day

hello!! can believe it's november already? i can't. i should have a cute thanksgiving card for you, but instead i have a cute birthday card. i love this balloon set #01 and have been waiting to make a cute card out of it.  then i realized it would go perfect with the pop up a2 insert horizontal and pop up bar a2 card.

i started with the pop up bar a2 card in tangelo blast with the white insert.  then i added some patterned paper from fancy pants on the outside.  i stamped a couple of the balloons using unity and webster's pages stamps.  added a little baker's twine to the balloons.  the sentiments on the outside and inside are from unity.

when you open the card, it's like the balloons are floating up into the air.  how cute is that??  think of all the possibilities you could make with this pop up card!!

ribbon of hope

hi there!  it's the last saturday in october, so i thought i would make a card in support of breast cancer awareness.  i love how it turned out.  i started with a gate fold card in kraft. then i stamped the flap with a background image from unity.  added the "hope" sentiment by susan weckesser.  then i inked the edges of the awareness ribbon #2 small and attached it to the flap.  added a little bling.  last i inked the edges of a piece of white cardstock and adhered it to the inside to write on.

i used a cool new (to me!) velcro closure.  makes it handy if you accidentally lose the band that goes around the card.  but who would do that??

halloween treats

howdy!! it's almost halloween, can you believe it? me either. so i decided to make a little halloween treat box. because it will come in handy very soon!!

i started with a square bag #01 large in white. then i inked it up with some rusty hinge distress ink. i added some alternating patterned paper on the front of the box (mostly because i love the orange and white polka dots!) i added a few stars from a cool distressed star stamp from unity to the patterned paper. then stamped some pumpkins and the sentiment (both from studio g) on a little half cut out. attached it with the tiny attacher to some muslin that i had inked up. then mounted it with foam tape to the box. added a little twine and more muslin at the top and viola!!

happy fall

hello there!!  fall is in the air in my neck of the woods.  leaves are changing.  the air is cool and crisp in the morning.  and before we know it, it will be winter!  so in honor of fall, i made this card to celebrate.  i started with a decorative window scallop card (in sunshine) then stamped a little scene using unity stamps.

so beautiful

hello!!  today i have a card that started out as a wedding type card, but ended up what could be an "anytime" card.  i used the base, dress window square scallop, and stamped the flowers along the bottom using a stamp from {ippity}.  then i added some patterned paper behind the dress cut out.

stamped inside is a sentiment from unity, added some prima flowers and there you have it!

hope.

hello! i have a non-paper craft project to share using a cool set of butterflies. i made a mixed media canvas using the different kinds of butterflies from the butterfly assortment.  there are so many cool butterflies cut from different types of material.  i used grungeboard, velum, acetate, chipboard and velvet.  i painted them and stacked some of them.  there are so many possibilities from the assortment!

keep swimming!

how's it going? ever feel like you are stuck in the muck and need to "just keep swimming" to get out?  this fishbowl window a2 card is awesome to use on a card for such an occasion!  the color of the base card is island breeze.  i used stamps from the {ippity} set, fishy philosophy and added some glitter as the rocks on the bottom of the bowl.

miss you

hi there!  today i wanted to show you a gate fold card.  i love the idea behind this type of card because it's like a surprise is waiting even after you take the card out of the envelope!
i started with a gate fold a2 card in kraft.  then i stamped the friend definition on the band (color is ocean breeze).  added the miss you on the folded side.  then i took a piece of white cardstock, stamped the girl and colored with prismacolor markers.  finished with inking the edges to give a more subtle look for the sky and ground.  all stamps used are from unity and phylis harris (a unity co-brand).

earth laughs in flowers.

happy saturday!!   have you tried any of the cottage cutz dies yet? there were a ton of great examples during christmas in july!
i used the flowers 2, layered die on this card, along with a circle small window A2 card base.  using the dies is such a fun and simple way to add depth to your cards.  i stamped the base of the card with my favorite secret stamp, bubble wrap, and chalk ink.  simply ink it up and use as a stamp!  it's awesome!
i added the sentiment from 'create your day' by  susan weckesser (a unity co-branded line) below the flower.  the flower is mounted on a white circle on the inside.

celebrate the season

hi there!! july is almost over, which means this is my last post for the christmas in july celebration!

as soon as i saw the cottage cutz snowflake doily i knew i wanted to use it on a canvas.  it made the perfect background when spritzed with glimmer mist.  i took the celebrate the season cottage cutz  die and covered it with some black enamel to give it a shiny look.  wrapped a little seam binding on it and here's the finished 6x6 canvas.

merry & bright

only 10 more days of christmas in july with creative cuts & more!  sometimes when you are making something, simple is just as good as complex!!  i started with square border windows a2 card.  then i stamped some swirls on the edges.  the white cardstock was stamped with unity stamps for the sentiment and tree, which was mounted behind the windows. then the edges were inked, as my motto is "leave no edge uninked!" the finial touch was glimmer mist to give it a little sparkle.

winter joy

merry, merry!! christmas in july is flying by so quickly!! gift cards are becoming more and more popular lately and who wants to give a gift card in a boring old envelope?  so i made a card to give a gift card in.

i started with the gift card holder square scallop card-horizontal base in huckleberry pie.  then i added a layer of patterned paper from pebbles.  i used the little snowman and trees from the snowglobe winter accessories cottage cutz dies.  colors used on the snowman include:  island breeze, white, chocolate cream and plum delight.  did a little stamping using snowflakes from the {ippity} kit, gingham christmas greetings, then added the "winter joy" sentiment from unity.

Thank you.

Hello everyone!!  This is my first post as a new member of the design team. Thanks for letting me share some craftiness with you today.

I always seem to need a thank you card but never have any around. So I made this thank you card using a circle small window A2 card base.  I also used scallop circle frame as a border around the circle on the base.  I stamped the background using a Hero Arts stamp, then stamped inside the card with thank you stamp from Unity.

Have a good weekend and hope you can spend some time getting crafty!
